I got this article from: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6625753.stm
“Did you even know that by smoking you will die earlier than what you were supposed to?” I was trying to console my friend who was only one year elder. Feeling that it looks cool to hold the cigarette in two fingers and elegantly lighting it using your swanky lighter would neither attract good girls
and most importantly good health. Smoking teenagers under the influence of Hollywood stars has become a major drift as well as a distress in the contemporary society. This affects the teen generation all over the globe, the Hollywood stars and the mortified parents of the smokers (teenagers).
In commonplace life we see scores of teens, standing or sitting on bikes stylishly smoking to act cool. However then do not know the future cost of such things which may possibly result in an “untimely death”. Thus the objective of the article is completely vindicated from the real life evidences and thus it is reasonable. We see boys getting addict to such things by the negative influences one of which being the actors in Hollywood. If this goes on then we are never going to see any more Einsteins or Newtons as this is widespread all over the world.
This is a shocking condition and I feel that action should be taken without more ado. Even though it is my personal opinion I am quite sure that the unfortunate parents of these trendy teens will be having the same thoughts. Considering the point of view of the manufacturers and film directors it is solely in their own private interest that they want to expose these products. They cannot just blight the teen for their prosperity! I know this situation as a very close friend of mine was trapped by this vicious net of smoking teenagers. I have seen his parents crying, scolding him but he won’t budge. I don’t want to be in his position. Even though I was not in his position it has had an equal effect on me as his parents. Being neutral also would give us the same feelings as those of these unlucky parents. The publisher clearly expresses his criticism of these stars, manufacturers and also the crew.
The solution mentioned in the article to ban smoking or to rate the films is perfectly suitable but as I am considering the perspective of the teenagers and as I am completely in support of it. I am a teenager who hates smoking and has seen no one smoking in his family. Maybe I have not considered the point of view of the film crew but still it is influential as I can hear my friends talking about how the actor looked “damn cool” while smoking. So I can firmly state that if smoking is not good for teenagers and thus all the sources of such negative influences must be banned as it affects the family greatly apart from the teens who turn about to be the scapegoats.
